Services
My copywriting services range from digital content and brochures, tone of voice guidelines and annual reports, to case studies. Meanwhile, my journalism skills translate naturally into articles, blogs and internal communications materials.
If you’re interested in a writing training workshop, I will tailor a session that caters specifically to your people, helping them to communicate more quickly, simply and effectively. For more details, please get in touch.

Digital content
The art of digital content lies in creating engaging copy that paddles away under the surface, containing the right keywords and making the right SEO connections. I’ve written web content for the LSE, Cass Business School, Corney & Barrow and the British Council, among others. Do get in touch if you’d like to discuss how I can help you streamline your messages, reflect your brand and connect with internal and external audiences.
-
Brochures
Whether it’s a printed brochure or a digital download, the brochure is a great way to get your message across. The starting point for a brochure is usually a briefing meeting, where we discuss your target audience, the main messages you want to convey and what you want the brochure to achieve. On this site, you’ll find examples of brochures I’ve written for Save the Children, GSK and the Paris Opera House.
-
Tone of voice
I love hearing what inspires people to go to work every morning and the words they use to describe that passion. I work on tone of voice projects both directly with clients and with design and communication agencies. Recently, I’ve developed a tone of voice for delilah, a new cosmetics brand, as well as for Atypical, a Silicon Roundabout legal start up.
-
Case studies
Clients often say how much it helps to have someone outside the company to write their case studies. As a former journalist, I know how to ask the right questions to bring out the story and elicit good quotes. I’ve written case studies for many professional service firms, including award-winning case studies for Deloitte, award entries for Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co LLP, and case histories for Remit Consultancy, the property consultants.
-
Workshops
Workshops are an excellent way to take your writing to the next level. I work with both individuals and groups, creating tailored workshops that equip people with tools and techniques to improve their business writing. Typically, workshops cover subjects such as: writing for busy readers; living your brand through language; and storytelling techniques for business.
-
Blogs
Clients often ask me to write blog pieces for them, as a way to promote new products and services and increase their online presence. I’ve recently written blog posts for Help Musicians UK and Clean Cut Media. My background as a features journalist means I’m able to grasp concepts quickly and write engaging, interesting pieces that people want to read and share.
-
Annual Reports
Recently, I’ve focused on the charity sector, writing annual reports for charities such as Clinks and Help Musicians UK.
Annual reports are a great way for charities to showcase achievements, clarify their vision and give a voice to beneficiaries.
-
Articles
I started off as a journalist, writing features for The Guardian and columns in The Times and Esquire magazine. I’ve also worked as an Assistant Editor and Features Editor on magazines.
This background means I enjoy writing think pieces for companies and editing company magazines.
-
Fundraising
I’ve worked closely on fundraising projects with a number of charities, including Freedom From Torture, The Brooke and Battersea Dogs and Cats Homes.
This has given me valuable insights into how to write messages that appeal to different types of supporters, from regular givers to major donors. My fundraising work includes cases for support, brochures and speeches.
-
Internal Communications
Canny companies know the importance of engaging employees through internal communications.
I’ve worked on internal communications projects with many different organisations, including Lloyds, Transport for London and Canon. Most recently, I edited a series of in-house magazines for Countrywide estate agents, encouraging over 100 employees to write articles.
