Refreshing web content
This was a fun job. Check out the C&B web site to see the copy I wrote. Hear about Dougie, the mixologist/comedian, the bar that serves marmalade breakfast martinis, and the best place to eavesdrop on Old Bailey barristers.
The project started when Corney & Barrow asked Venture Three branding agency to create a new branding strategy for its central London C&B wine bars and restaurant.
Venture Three defined the new brand and tone of voice, and brought me on board to write the copy for the new website. So, one sunny summer afternoon I went along to C&B’s flagship bar in Paternoster Square to meet the company’s managing director. She told me stories about the character – and characters – of the C&B wine bars, and I wove those details into copy for the new web site.

When the managing director saw the new web content I’d written, she sent an email with ‘Love the copy!!’ in the subject line.
There are a few reasons why this project worked so well. First, Venture Three did a brilliant job with the branding concept and design. Second, the managing director shared her thoughts with me one-to-one, which provided great real-life stories and fresh information. Finally, there was good liaison between the writers, consultants, project manager and designers.
In other words: a brilliant concept, fresh information and good teamwork. I’m always interested in working on projects like these, so please get in touch if this sounds like you.
